Jaewoo Shim joined Clearwater in 2002 and is a member of the Firm’s Investment and Management Committees. Since establishing the Korea office, Mr. Shim has played a key role in building Clearwater’s Korea presence including the investment of more than $500 million across 40 transactions in the region. Notable transactions Mr. Shim has led or been involved with include the purchase of a restructured loan portfolio consisting of 53 credits, the acquisition of four secured loan portfolios with a total principal value of 408 billion Korean won, and a leveraged securitization project with a securitization value of over 80 billion Korean won. Prior to joining Clearwater, Mr. Shim worked at Marco Polo, an emerging market dedicated investment bank and at LG Insurance as an investment analyst.
Mr. Shim is a CFA charterholder, holds a master of business administration degree in Finance and Accounting from New York’s Stern School of Business and holds a bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration from Yonsei University.
